Biography:
What makes a good man fall into darkness? Is it a lust for power, or perhaps loyalty to another? And what is left behind, other than an eternally tarnished legacy and a family that wishes they had never been born? Who truly knows but the man himself? Kesi Varash was that man. Born the son of a low-level bureaucrat in Khoros, he saw the need for change within his society, but he knew it would take more than just working in the same job as his father. Thus, when he came of age, he enrolled in the University of Khoros, seeking to eventually be able to give back to his community. With what money he could raise, he ran for mayor of the city as part of the conservative ANP (Arashin National Party), which he would win. Though most men would be satisfied with this accomplishment, Kesi was not most men. Thus, in 1928, he sought election to the Imperial Chamber of Deputies, running for the same party as before. He would yet again find victory.
That same year as when he was elected, Kesi would attend the funeral of the late Emperor, Arkan IV Vahram ve Sherkoz, wherein he would have a chance encounter with one Brigadier General Varen Ikir. The two would "hit it off", as it were, leading to them beginning a correspondence between themselves. In time, Kesi would find himself swayed by Ikir's political beliefs, including the ideology which he had been the progenitor of: Ikirism. It would be under this banner that Kesi would be reelected to the National Assembly in 1936 and later 1941. In 1941, he would participate in a coup d'état spearheaded by now Chancellor Varen Ikir against the government of Prime Minister Jishek Avis. Following this, Kesi would be made the new Prime Minister, though he was in effect a puppet of the Imperial Chancellor.
During the seven years that Kesi would lead the National Assembly, he would use the position to grow wealthy in his own right, though this embezzlement would be the least of his crimes. It would be, under the orders of Varen Ikir, that he would sign off on the arrests of political dissidents, ethnic minorities, homosexuals, and all of those who the Marshal viewed as being a threat to Ikhan and his rule. He would also be responsible for the creation of penal battalions, primarily using said arrestees, who would serve as little more than human shields, not to mention the prolific use of chemical and biological weapons against Ardian forces and cities. However, being a yes-man would only get Kesi so far, as in 1948, he would be sacked from his position and replaced by Aren Kirat. With the fall of the Ikirist regime in 1952, he would be arrested and convicted of several crimes which shall be mentioned below. On July 3rd, 1953, he would be found guilty, alongside Jishek Ikir, Aren Shokai, and Israi Kosan, of various crimes against the state and sentenced to death. On October 6th, 1954, he was executed by gunshot to the back of the head, thus ending a life which, though having the potential for great good for the nation, betrayed it for his personal interests.
Convicted of:
Six counts of felony embezzlement, 1,000 counts of wrongful imprisonment, 2 counts of conspiracy to commit ethnic cleansing, 4 counts of crimes against the state
