The ministry is led by the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, a member of the Cabinet appointed by the Prime Minister and confirmed by the National Assembly. The Minister of Foreign Affairs serves as the nation's chief diplomat and representative abroad, and according to the line of succession, in the event of the Death or incapacitation of both the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, the first cabinet official in order of precedence to take charge.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is headquartered in the Katis hall, located near the center of Ikan and only a few blocks away from the National Assembly Building.
Duties
The Executive Branch and the National Assembly have constitutional responsibilities for Ikhani Foreign Policy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the leading agency in Ikhan for foreign affairs, and it's head, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, is the Prime Minister's chief foreign policy advisor. The ministry advances Ikhani objectives and interests in the world through it's primary role in developing and implementing the Prime Minister's foreign policy. It provides an array of important services to Ikhani citizens and to foreigners seeking to visit or to immigrate to Ikhan.
It's purpose includes:
- Protecting and assisting Ikhani citizens living or travelling abroad;
- Assisting Ikhani businesses in the international marketplace;
- Coordinating and providing support for international activities of other Ikhani agencies (local, provincial, or national government), official visits overseas and at home, and other diplomatic efforts;
- Keeping the public informed about Ikhani foreign policy and relations with other countries and providing feedback from the public to administration officials;
- Providing registration for non-diplomatic staff vehicles and the vehicles of diplomats of foreign countries having diplomatic immunity in Ikhan.
